I still don’t understand people

Earlier this week, I attended a webinar to learn more about backlinks and to hear from an expert, Adam Enfroy. His whole story is that he aggressively pursued backlinks 80+ initially to establish site authority, which helped him rank high with Google SEO.

Not that this is a new idea, but the trick is that it is very challenging to execute.

For one, when it comes to backlinks, the first thought people have is, “what is in it for me?” The second is “who the fuck are you?”

Most emails to websites with authority don’t go anywhere, and the few that do respond are usually a bit tricky to get them to follow up. Over time, I’ve established a few mutual relationships with other people in my space, but I still don’t understand why it is so challenging to do.

For example, as Adam Enfroy spoke about backlinks and establishing relationships during the webinar, I posted several messages in the chat window offering to connect with anyone interested in establishing this arrangement. Not one damn taker.

I’ve written a blog post here on Medium and posted it on LinkedIn. On Medium, I now have one strong lead, and on LinkedIn, nothing. Keep in mind that I have 300 followers here and 11k+ on LinkedIn.
